Meet Genia
As a strategic advisor and interim executive, Genia helps social justice organizations increase their sustainability, efficiency, and impact during cultural, leadership, or operational transitions.

She served as Interim Executive Vice President of Capacity Building for the National Immigration Law Center, an organization dedicated to defending and advancing the rights of low-income immigrants; Interim Senior Vice President of Finance and Operations for Race Forward, the nation’s largest multiracial racial justice organization; Chief Operating and Financial Officer at the Vera Institute of Justice, an organization working to reform our justice system; and Chief Operating Officer at Legal Services NYC, the largest civil legal services provider in the country.
She has also provided strategic consulting support for organizations during their start-up phase like Women Building Up, an operating foundation mobilizing resources to increase the impact of grassroots efforts that build the economic power and mental and physical well-being of women, girls and gender-expansive people directly impacted by carceral systems; and Anthos Home, an organization working to streamline the New York City housing voucher process.

A native of Pittsburgh, PA, Genia holds a BA in public relations/business administration from Howard University; a Master of Public Administration/Nonprofit Management from the George Washington University; two master certificates in contracts administration from Villanova University; and a Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification from the Project Management Institute. Genia has also studied Interior Design at Pratt Institute.
