Genia A. Wright is an accomplished executive leader with more than 20 years of experience helping complex organizations strengthen operations, build institutional capacity, and lead through periods of growth, transformation, and executive transition. She has served on executive leadership teams for nationally recognized nonprofits, research institutions, and corporate foundations, partnering with CEOs and Boards to align strategy, governance, finance, people, and operations in support of long-term organizational performance.

Throughout her career, Genia has helped organizations navigate their most consequential moments. At the Women's Prison Association, she strengthened enterprise performance during a CEO transition. At the National Immigration Law Center and Immigrant Justice Fund, she helped sustain organizational stability through multiple executive leadership transitions while strengthening governance and organizational capacity across two affiliated organizations. At Race Forward, she unified enterprise operations following a major merger and modernized the systems and leadership infrastructure needed to support long-term growth.

As Chief Operating and Financial Officer at the Vera Institute of Justice, Genia partnered with executive leadership and the Board to strengthen enterprise operations for a $186 million organization, guiding strategic planning, financial stewardship, organizational design, and a headquarters relocation projected to reduce occupancy costs by $15 million over 15 years. Earlier, as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer at Legal Services NYC, she led finance, operations, technology, human resources, compliance, and administrative services for a unionized, seven-office organization serving communities across New York City.

Beyond interim executive leadership, Genia advises organizations including River Fund, Women Building Up, and Anthos Home on organizational strategy, governance, executive effectiveness, and operational design. Her work helps organizations move beyond solving immediate operational challenges to building stronger leadership teams, clearer decision-making, resilient operating models, and the institutional capacity needed to sustain growth and mission impact over time.
